Celebrating Native Food

Some speakers at the conference referred to the "Slow Food Movement" which seeks to preserve and promote the non-hybridized food crops that constitute our human heritage. Presently the availability of these foods is severely limited for most of us.

Efforts must continue across Indian County and elsewhere to restore traditional food systems. Just imagine what could happen if we focused on Native food systems to develop economic strategies that would also bring in traditional agriculture, bring Native foods back into our diets and help us all to regain and maintain good health.
