  The Northwest Indian Applied Research Institute serves the interests of Washington State tribes, adopting the principles of applied research and putting theory into practice through projects using college and community resources.



• John Hopkins University School of Public Health -
  Center for American Indian and Alaskan Native Health
  The Center for American Indian and Alaskan Native Health researches strategies to raise the health and well-being of American Indians; works with Native health leaders from Lakota, Oneida, Kiowa, Cherokee, Pima, Navajo, Apache and Alaskan Native tribes.



• University of Colorado Health Sciences Center - American Indian and Alaska Native Programs
  The American Indian and Alaska Native Programs promote the health and well-being of American Indians and Alaska natives by pursing research, training, education and information dissemination within a culturally sensitive biopsychosocial framework.



• University of Michigan - Dearborn: Native American Ethnobotany Database
  Sponsors the Native American Ethnobotany web site, a database of almost 4,000 species of plants and the more than 47,000 uses, including food, medicine, dyes, and fibers, made of them by Native Americans.



• University of New Mexico Native Health Databases
  The Native Health Databases contain bibliographic information and abstracts of health-related articles, reports, surveys and other resources pertaining to the health care of American Indians and Alaska Natives.



• University of Oklahoma Health Promotion Programs
  The Health Promotion Programs (HHP) is designed to meet the growing needs in health promotion and wellness for Native Americans, with programs, conferences and activities directed at individual and community empowerment.



• University of Washington School of Medicine - Native American Center of Excellence
  The Native American Center of Excellence (NACOE) facilitates the recruitment and professional development of American Indian students who are interested in careers in medicine, and of research into Indian health issues.
